As a new college student, you may find that things are a
little tight when it comes to money. But do not worry there are many ways when
going to college that you can make a little extra money when you need it. You
would be surprised as to how much money you would make doing these 5 things
during college.
Babysit 2 or 3
Times a Week
As a college student, you are going to find that you are
going to have a lot of time that you are just not going to know what to do
with. One of the best ways that you can not only help families in the area, but
you can also make a little extra money is by babysitting on the days that you
are not too busy or you do not have anything to do. You will find that there
are a lot of families that need help during the school year.
A lot of the time the parents of the children are willing to
pay anywhere from 10.00 to 13.00 an hour or they will do a flat rate depending
on how many children there are. You may find that there are times that doing
the flat rate you are going to end up making more money, than if you were to do
the hourly. So, make sure that you take a moment and consider the best route to
go.
Find a Writing Gig
If you are someone that loves to
write or has a writing background in journalism than you may want to consider
looking for a few writing gigs. You can find writing gigs that pay decent just
by going through a few websites. One place that you can find some writing gigs
is Craigslist. However; the one thing that you want to keep in mind is to make
sure that you get paid before they get the piece that you wrote for them. You
will find that there are a lot of people out there that will not pay for the
work.
But there are other websites that are secure that will make
sure that you will get paid for the work that you do for the clients. They
offer what is called Secured Payments. That means that the client has been
verified as a legit paying client and they already have the money in the account.
Doing Yard Work
For People
Let’s face it, you are young and you can move a lot faster
than a lot of people. So why not use your ability to move a lot easier to help
people. Why not offer to help people do their yard work for a little cash. A
lot of the time the individual that you are going to ask is not going to tell
you no, because that way it will let them focus on other things that they may
need to get done throughout the week.
Even if it is something such as mowing the yard, raking the
yard or for some even planting some flowers for someone. Just that little bit
you would be surprised as to how much it is going to help someone.
Donate Your Time Donate Some Blood
Donating blood is not one of the things that a lot of people
would think of as making a little money. However; a lot of the time depending
on the area in which you live in there are a lot of the times that they will
pay you for your time that you come in and donate your blood.
But the one thing that you want to keep in mind is that not
only are you getting paid for giving blood you are also saving someone’s life
as there are times that they do not have the blood types that are needed and
you may be that one that they need due to something that happen to them.
Tutor Someone in a
Class
The final tip that is one of the best and quickest ways to
make money while you are going to college is simple. Take the time to tutor one
of the classmates that you may have and just ask for a small fee. Word will get
around and you will find that they will let someone else know about your
services and by the end of the semester you are going to have 4 or 5 people
that you are going to be tutoring and that is 4 or 5 times more money that you
are going to end up with in the end.
So, before you think that you are not going to have any
money you may want to look at the many different things that you can do to not
only help others but benefit you in the end because you are going to get paid
for everything that you do.
